Uniforms

More Reference material:

Falschirmjaeger

Literally "parachute hunter"
In German there is two dots (umlaut) on the a.
When written in English, or you don't have access to the umlaut due to restrictions in typing,
such as on Blogger, an "e" is placed after the "a".
Writing it as Falschirmjager is incorrect.

My aim for my unit is the uniform on the right

Italeri Late War German Elite Troops. Basecoated and 1st Beige camo (Vallejo German light brtown)
Destined to become Waffen SS

Snipers with Gewehr 43 at the ready. Came across a really great reference work in the local library today: German Soldiers of WW Two (Histoire and Collections) by Jean De Lagarde.

Airfix

My Old Airfix 1/72 Falschirmjager, originally in 1945 colours, now repainted in 43-44 Autumn scheme. Washes yet to be done, obviously no basing. GW bases used this time.

Italeri

Italeri Falschirmjaeger base-coated in Grey (Only because I ran out of black); mounted on Galeforce 9 magnetised bases. Dunkergelb battledress, Luftwaffe blue trousers. Work in progress...

KWC Meet

2 September looks set for the next Kapiti Wargames Club meet.

Believe the 40K guys are organising a small tournament, the Fantasy guys may be doing a seige. Not sure if FoW players are up to anything yet. (Would expect something from them)

Have just thrown down the gauntlet for 1/72 players. (Warhammer WW2 Rules) My Late War Wehrmacht needs an outing. May just include a unit of Falschirmjaeger as a special choice. Will post again once the details are clearer
